Potiphar’s Apprentices

Named after Charles Potiphar who sang ‘The Sheffield Apprentice’ to Ralph Vaughan Williams in 1903, they sing songs from the 17th Century to the present day, collected in and around Essex which are from their latest CD ‘Ballad of Essex’.

Strumpshaw Tree Fair and the Norfolk musicians from Hushwing and Bristol Fashion bands entertained the Fair-Goers on Saturday 16th July. You can read more HERE – which includes a short video of their playing. You can see them again in this line up at Traditional Music Day on Saturday 10th September in the Walnut, Stowmarket – one of the venues we’re delighted to be using on the day.

Stepdance Day took place on Sunday 24th July for the first time in Cambridgeshire. We had a lovely afternoon and were delighted to be supported by visitors from Bedfordshire, Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk and of course, Cambridgeshire. A lovely session in the Tharp Arms afterwards rounded the day off very nicely. Read our report HERE.
