Saturday 10th September Dance At Traditional Music Day 22

Throughout the day on Saturday 10th September there will be dance workshops, a stepdance afternoon session and Morris Sides performing throughout the town. Thanks to Sue Lawrence & Dave Evans for organising the morris dancing.

There will be opportunities to join in FREE OF CHARGE with dancing throughout the day either around the town with the morris sides, in St Peter’s Hall – where there will be a stepdance workshop and a Plough Monday/Molly dance workshop or in Church Walk with the stepdancers.

Step into Stepdance – with live music that will get your feet tapping. We’ll be trying out some basic footwork and encouraging you to find your feet in this exciting percussive stepdancing style! 

Suitable for absolute beginners. If you have hard soled shoes or tap shoes, bring them with you. There will be some tap shoes of various sizes to borrow.

Nicky Stockman & Erin Brown & Barry Watson

Plough Monday in the FensMolly & Broom Dance with Nicky Stockman, Erin & Barry Watson

Nicky, Erin & Barry will take you on a journey to explore “Plough Monday In The Fens“, an introduction to Broom Dance and Molly Dance from the Fens….bring sturdy shoes and raise your voices Fenland style!

FREE event, St Peter’s Hall, 3pm-4pm.

Fiona Davies

Fiona Davies will be joined by some East Anglia’s finest stepdancers in Church Walk between 2pm and 4pm.

Come and see the different styles of dance and join in. All welcome. This is a FREE event.

Morris Dancing

Starting around the town at 11am, we are delighted to include 6 local Morris sides who will be dancing around the town until just after 4pm. Do encourage them and welcome them to our lovely town and have a go when the opportunities arise! FREE!
