Vaughan Williams’ Folk Showcase Finale & Film

1.00pm-2.30pm, John Peel Centre
FREE EVENT

Discover some of East Anglia’s brightest young musical talent who have been on a journey through Vaughan Williams’ East Anglian folk song collections as part of the “Vaughan Williams’ Folk Project“, managed by Nicky Stockman and Alex Bartholomew at EATMT.

Back in September 2022, 9 musicians under the age of 25 were chosen to create a showcase inspired by the song transcripts. Mentored by Finn Collinson and Emma Beach, with Kate Griffin & Stu Hanna as guest mentors and with the additional support of Becky Marshall Potter at FolkEast, they have worked together to take you on a journey rooted in the traditional music of our region.

We welcome to the stage: Peter McAuley, Lauren Peck, Heather Moss, Leila Hooton, Sarah Stock, Abbey Thomas and Ollie Thompson plus a special guest.

After the concert, there will be a film showing of our schools and communities work undertaken also as part of this exciting project. Our thanks to Jake Lee Savage for creating this final film and the various podcasts that have been produced over the last year.
