Getting to Stowmarket

STOWMARKET BY TRAIN: The town centre is a short walk from Stowmarket Train Station where there is direct access from London/Ipswich/Norwich/Diss/Cambridge/Ely and Peterborough.

*CHECK FOR ENGINEERING WORKS/PLANNED STRIKES ETC BEFORE TRAVELLING!

STOWMARKET BY CAR: The town is situated a few miles from the A14 (Junctions 49 & 50) and there are several council run car parks in the town.

*The A14 is undergoing major resurfacing works between Junctions 47a and 49 in both directions and at various times of the day this causes major delays in both directions.

Parking in Stowmarket

The general advice is if you’re staying for the day, avoid short stay/supermarket car parks. The long stay car parks cost £2.50 for over 4 hours. Parking after 6pm is FREE.

Getting to The Walnut – a helping hand!

Stowmarket is very fortunate to have a Rickshaw which we are delighted to have secured between noon and 4.00pm on the day. Most of the venues in the Town are within easy walking distance. The Walnut is an 8-10 minute walk from the centre of town and for those who require a helping hand, the Rickshaw will be available to book on the day. It will be based around Church Walk and a timetable of when it will be departing for the Walnut will be available on the day run to coincide with the various sessions running for the main part of the day. Thanks to our friends Communities Together East Anglia for joining us to provide this service.

The nearest site to Stowmarket is Lakeside, Lower Road, Onehouse IP14 3BX. 01449 613770. Email: lakesideonehouse@gmail.com. Approx 1 mile from centre of Stowmarket.

This site is beside a fishing lake.  Some electric hook ups, washing up facilities, toilets and showers. Children’s area. Dogs welcome. On site cafe open each day from 9 am till 15.30pm, but advisable to book. Arrival and departure times around 12 midday. Pitches £25 to £35 per night. £10 per person per night in a tent.

Opposite the site entrance is the Shepherd & Dog pub and restaurant – 01449 614675.
