Saturday 10th September Stalls at Traditional Music Day

The following stalls will be found on the church grounds in Church Walk, Stowmarket:

Our wristband office will be set up in the Church Grounds in front of the Church of St Peter and St Mary and we will be joined by a few other stall holders. Ticketholders on arrival should come to the pop up EATMT wristband office on the Church grounds in Church Walk to sign in and collect their wristbands and programme.

We will also have a small EATMT stall selling books and second hand instruments. Joining us will be:

Head of Music at our local auctioneers will be at hand to value any musical items you might be interested in selling. Michael Higginson will be on a stall between 12 noon and 2pm in the Church Grounds. The auction house runs an online music related auction monthly and 3 “musical memorabilia” auctions each year – the next one coming up is in November. For each sale made on the back of Michael’s presence at Traditional Music Day, EATMT receive a small commission.

Music Day CD Stall: A wide range of traditional music CDs including contemporary folk music and archive field recordings from East Anglia and beyond. Labels include the complete range of Veteran as well as many gems on Topic, One Row Records, Kyloe, Fellside, Musical Traditions, Wild Goose and Backshift. The stall, run jointly by Katie Howson and Mossy Christian, will also feature handmade Jig Dolls, books and more. Whether you want to listen to a band or a ballad, learn a sea song or a dance tune, there will probably be a CD to suit your taste!

Acorn Instruments are based in North Yorkshire and carry an extensive stock of Castagnari melodeons and accordions including the Marie-Nicole – designed and commissioned by Acorn Instruments.

Fiddle Daemons will be joining other stallholders on Traditional Music Day and will be setting up a small workshop to fix any stringed instrument niggles you may have. Do get in touch with Jackie Sparrow in advance if you have something specific to fix to see if she is able to fix-while-you-wait.

Traditional Violin, Viola and Cello maker Rod Ward will be joining us on Traditional Music Day with his stall and will be bringing with him a selection of his beautiful hand made stringed instruments which are for sale.
