As part of the “More Than Melodeons” series of workshops in May 2023, Janet Koralambe taught an arrangement of “Lovely Joan” as collected in Southwold in October 1910. The singer that Vaughan Williams visited was William Hurr, one of 3 brothers who were all fishermen in the town (see Blyth Voices, East Anglian Traditional Music Trust and Katie Howson, 2008).
