English Folk Dance and Song Society The long-established national organisation for folk music, includes the Vaughan Williams Memorial Library, the biggest archive of folk music in the country. Also publishes books and recordings.

 

Folk Arts England is the national umbrella organisation for folk development, which includes Shooting Roots (youth events at festivals), Direct Roots (invaluable resource for contacts), the Association of Festival Organisers which provides information for music festivals and runs an annual conference and the The Folk Arts Network which runs conferences and training events for people involved in folk arts development work.

 

Regional members of the Folk Arts Network include Folkworks in the north east, Folk South West, the Wren Trust in Devon, Yorkshire Folk Arts, Ryburn Three Step and Yorkshire Dales Workshops in Yorkshire, South East Folk Arts Network, TAPS in the mid south, Folkus in the north west. In the east, there's us, the East Anglian Traditional Music Trust!

 

Musical Traditions Internet magazine with masses of articles including Keith Summers' survey of traditional music in east Suffolk in the 1970s, Sing Say or Pay. Own recording label featuring several recordings from the region.
